Hoot Trail

< Back to all trails

The Hoot Trail offers a little bit of something to all. Built as a connector trail into the Rock Creek drainage, this Green/Beginner trail offers simple flow thats fun for everyone. Design elements offer accessibility and fun to riders of all abilities, beginners and advanced alike. With pleasant grades and gently sloped turns, Hoot helps kids ride down their first trail with smiles for miles. And the easy climb up via a paved road can enable adaptive use accessibility not often found on public lands.

Hoot Trail was named not just for the fun to be found, but for the owls nesting nearby. Always watch for other users in the region and yield to uphill traffic.

Extra noteworthy is that through a combined effort of BONC, Tahoe National Forest, and Gold Country Trails Council, good news is on horizon…! As such, it is recommended that mountain bikers ride Hoot on calendar-even days, as equestrians may be out on the odd days. More news to come, but it’s great.
