BONC will once again host a weekend of trail building, camping, and fun times in the Grouse Ridge area off Highway 20. Grousefest is a wonderful opportunity to put time in to a beloved and beautiful trail network here in Nevada County - and make some new friends while you’re at it!
The plan:
We’ll camp Friday and Saturday night at the Grouse Ridge campground which has an amazing view, pit toilets and no potable water. Bring your own water supply or filters for the trail (although BONC will have back up water as well). From the Grouse Ridge Campground, we'll be heading North on the Grouse Ridge Trail approx. 1.5 miles to connect with the Glacier Lake Trail. If you don’t camp Friday night, meet at 8:30 am for a 9 am departure (there will also be an earlier crew heading out at 8 am). We will be working a 3-mile stretch of the Glacier Lake Trail clearing brush and debris out of the trail bed, clearing trees and re-establishing original trail bed. BONC will have tools, but feel free to bring loppers, hand saws, rakes or McLeods if you have them. Bring gloves and appropriate shoes and clothing for a day on the trail!
Sack lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday, plus beverages from a local sponsor.
Sign the participation form with this Smartwaiver link by Tuesday, September 8th so we know how much food to provide.
Email info@bonc.org with any questions. We’ll see you at this year’s Grousefest!
