This letter is in support of State Parks acquisition of lands in the Osborne Hill Area adjacent to Empire Mine State Historic Park near Grass Valley. Park annexation is the best possible fate for this property.

This area has outstanding system of informal trails that are used by local cyclists, hikers and equestrians. It represents important open space close to a semi-urban area. Past mining operations on these lands make them an ideal addition to this particular historic park. Community groups stand committed to aiding the acquisition of this property and enhancing trail opportunities with volunteer labor so as to minimize contributions from State Parks.

Empire Mine is a gem and this property would make an excellent addition.
